Why should I go to Colaiste na Rosann?
Our aim is to bring Irish back into the modern world. We aim to teach students not only Irish but to give every student two new skills in multi-media and water sports. At the end of every course, our students will leave us having made themselves a short film or television / radio programme. This module will be taught with the help of professionals from the world of Irish media. We have also introduced a water sports module, where every student will be afforded the opportunity to learn one new water sport: Surfing, Kayaking, Snorkelling or Swimming. We have invested in computers, cameras and interactive white boards also to improve the learning experience.
How do I book a place?
Simply fill in the online booking form and pay your deposit through Paypal. Alternatively, you can download an application form and send on the deposit.
What do I need to bring with me and get organised before I go?
Students should bring an adequate supply of warm, protective leisure-type clothing for their visit, including waterproof clothing to include a light waterproof jacket with reflective material (or reflective armband). For more details, see the 'Requirements' section.
How do I get there?
By coach, car or plane. We are situated in Anagaire, which is 6 miles from Dungloe, 8 miles from Gaoth Dobhair, 40 miles from Letterkenny and 43 miles from Donegal town.
The Donegal Gaeltacht region is the largest of the seven Gaeltacht regions in Ireland. For more, see the 'Getting Here' section.
Where do I stay when I arrive? Will I be looked after?
Students reside with Irish speaking host families in and around the village of Anagaire. The Bean an Tí will provide for all the students needs while attending Coláiste na Rosann. The houses that we use are all inspected and approved by An Roinn Ealaíon, Oidhreachta, Gaeltachta agus Oileán. The maximum distance from the houses of residence to the Coláiste is one mile. For more, see the 'Staying Here' section.
What will I be doing every day?
The average day consists of class-time in the morning, activities in the afternoon, and evening events at night, with regular meal-times in between. Some days are organised trips outside the area. For more, see the 'Activities' and 'Course Details' sections.
How can I keep in touch with people after I go home?
We have a social networking site set up especially for past-pupils of Colaiste na Rosann and we also have Facebook, Bebo, Twitter, YouTube, Flickr and our own Blog for you to keep in touch with each other and what's happening at the college. For more, see the 'Past-Pupils' section.
