Students will spend a week away from home as a class group. They will stay in guesthouses with their friends in groups as pre-arranged with their class teacher and parents/guardians. Boys and girls are housed separately. Generally, 5 or 6 schools visit on the same week giving great diversity and dynamics to each course. Students will be immersed in Irish Language and Culture for the week. They will hear and speak Gaeilge and become familiar with simple everyday conversational Irish. They will quickly become confident and capable in their abilities. Language learning becomes fun and enjoyable through this living experience. Morning class is followed by afternoon trips - we visit Dún Lúiche Heritage and Adventure Centre on one afternoon. Next day we are off to Carrickfinn Blue Flag Beach and Sand Dunes. On another afternoon we take a boat trip to the offshore island of Óileán Áráinn Mhór (weather permitting). The Rosses area of West Donegal is an area of outstanding natural beauty and to spend a few days here is enchanting and most memorable. Each evening everybody gathers at Coláiste na Rosann for Tráth na gCeisteanna (Quiz as gaeilge) agus Spórt, for the Talent Show, to learn and enjoy traditional céilí dancing and for the Disco and Prize Giving. Safety and high standards of care are paramount and good supervision ensure all have a fabulous and memorable experience. Download an application form by clicking here. |
